Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox received a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. Lennox's budget was increased with a student stipend and part-time work. Lennox wasn't content with her performance compared with other students at the Royal Academy and began looking for alternative paths. Lennox was a flute player in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. But she quit prior to the group's appearance to I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. She was the main voice in The Tourists a British pop group from 1977 until the year 1980. Here she met Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. Following that Lennox began to work on her solo first album Diva and it was released in 1992. The album was hugely successful both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album debuted on October 31, 2014. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul jazz tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera includes four keyboard improvised tracks. The E.P. The E.P. is her first self-produced album as well as a follow-up to the art installation she designed at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You go... Annie Lennox (born December 25 in 1954) is a Scottish political activist and singer. The Tourists had a minor popularity in the latter part of the 1970s. Lennox and Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, would go on to achieve international fame in 1980s with the Eurythmics. In 1992 Lennox launched a solo career by releasing the release of her first album Diva that produced a number of hit tracks, including Why and Walking in Broken Glass. Medusa the studio album released in 1995 includes cover versions of tracks including No MoreI I Love Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale. She has six solo studio albums as well as a compilation album.
